Lay out picture frames by the hook locations you actually need
Hanging a group of frames is more than dividing a wall into equal spaces. Frame widths, heights, gaps, hanger positions, and the desired visual center all affect where each hook belongs. MeasureMarks calculates the actual X/Y hook coordinates rather than stopping at frame spacing.
Uniform and mixed-frame layouts
Use uniform mode when every frame is the same size. Use custom mode for arrangements such as a larger center frame with smaller frames on each side. Each custom frame can have its own width, height, and hook offset from the top of the frame.
Measure the hardware, not just the frame
- Measure the hook or wire position under the same tension it will have on the wall.
- Use the same floor or wall datum for every vertical measurement.
- Confirm that the visual center height suits the furniture and room, rather than assuming one universal height.
- Mark all hook points lightly before drilling or installing anchors.
What is hook offset?
It is the vertical distance from the top edge of the frame down to the point that actually hangs on the wall.
Can different frame sizes share one center height?
Yes. That is often the cleanest gallery arrangement, and the calculator automatically changes each hook height to preserve it.
